What is the Friends of Steely Library?

The Friends of Steely Library provides crucial dollars to support the W. Frank Steely Library's current needs. The Friends group was established in 1985 when members of the NKU community joined with community leaders to offer an outlet for library support.

Why support the W. Frank Steely Library?

The W. Frank Steely Library is essential to the intellectual vitality of the University and attracts talented students, faculty, and scholars to the Highland Heights campus. With over 300,000 volumes, it is one of the area's great research libraries and renowned for the depth and breadth of its collections. The Library is central to the University's mission of teaching, research, and public service. It is the one campus unit that serves all academic disciplines.

Why should I give to the Friends of Steely Library?

As the Library adapts to meet new challenges, private support is more important than ever before. The library of today offers innovative methods for teaching, research, and learning, and it provides immediate and easy access to its collections and services. The contributions of the Friends organization helps Steely Library acquire new resources, preserve existing materials, and keep pace with cutting-edge technologies that offer multiple formats and improved access to information.
