- Support Steely Library's broad-based mission through limited fund-raising events, solicitation of gifts, and annual memberships;
- Offer readings and lectures by established and emerging writers through its annual literary series to students as well as to the community at large;
- Provide special opportunities for its members to connect with the University community and its invited guests; and
- Be a member of the Friends organization by making a gift of at least $100.
Friends of Steely Library Board of Directors
The Friends of Steely Library Board of Directors is a group of dedicated individuals who understand the Library's central role in support of the University's mission of teaching, research, and public service. Board members serve as advocates for the Library and engage in a variety of activities that advance interest in and support for its collections, programs, services, and initiatives.
The charge to the Friends of Steely Library Board of Directors is to serve as an informed advocate for the Library, advancing its mission and support for its collections, programs, services, and initiatives; establish criteria for membership in the Friends organization and assist in the development of policies for levels of membership and recognition for gifts; assist the Associate Provost in raising the visibility of the W. Frank Steely Library at the community, state, national, and international levels; and advise the Associate Provost about potential sources of library support, financial or otherwise.
